The study focuses on the innovative preparation of ultralight and hydrophobic carbon aerogels derived from TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers for organic solvent removal. These aerogels, characterized by an exceptionally low density of 8.8 mg cm-3 and high porosity of 99.5%, exhibit remarkable fire resistance and hydrophobicity, enabling them to absorb significant amounts of organic solvents.
