Midwinter

Set against the backdrop of historical conflict, the story follows Alastair Maclean, a Scotsman in exile who returns to England to join the Scottish Army. As he journeys toward London, he uncovers a dangerous plot that threatens the Scottish cause. Complicating matters, he becomes romantically involved with a married English woman, forcing him to navigate a tumultuous landscape of honor, love, and loyalty to his country.
