Post-Jazz Poetics

Focusing on the intersection of jazz and poetry, this work explores how five influential African-American women poets use jazz-inspired techniques to craft literature that addresses social issues. Through the lens of their work, the author highlights a new radical black poetics and illustrates how these poets articulate a transnational feminism. The book underscores the significant contributions of black women to modern American culture, emphasizing their roles in both artistic expression and political discourse.
