Influence of Neem/ Chitosan Composite on the Antimicrobial activity

The study explores the impact of pretreating wool fibers with chitosan, nano chitosan, and neem/chitosan composites before dyeing with natural dyes like curcumin and red onion peels. Results show that treated fibers exhibit significantly higher color strength and improved fastness properties—resisting rubbing, washing, and perspiration—compared to untreated fibers. Scanning electron microscopy reveals that treated fibers have smoother, more even surfaces and increased diameter, indicating structural enhancements due to the pretreatment process.
