En savoir plus sur le livre

A small Moroccan girl from an impoverished family receives a quest from a holy man in Casablanca: to find the Bird with Crooked Wings. Shaafia never forgets her mission, and while studying translation in Bordeaux, she fulfills it by connecting with Pia, a physically handicapped Australian child who is the reincarnation of an ancient Indian sage. As they gather in an old French château, other souls with their own quests join them, and miracles occur. However, Pia’s life is tragically cut short in Lourdes, but her ability to communicate continues, leading to a pilgrimage site in the second volume. In the third volume, Shaafia returns to Morocco, transformed from the shy student she once was. She discovers her own gifts, no longer just a translator for Pia, but guided by unseen forces. As she embraces her powers, she inspires her previously abject family and accesses knowledge she never knew she possessed. Yet, dark forces oppose her success. As Shaafia deepens her trust in her abilities, she confronts new challenges, and those around her begin to recognize her potential. The derelict Ocean House, or Darou Al Bahr, is revitalized, becoming a holy place once again as Shaafia’s journey unfolds.
