Frances Burney, an influential English novelist and playwright, is best known for her acclaimed novel Evelina, which marked the beginning of her literary career in 1778. Serving as "Keeper of the Robes" to Queen Charlotte, she navigated a life filled with personal and professional challenges, including a marriage to French General Alexandre d'Arblay. After years of writing and experiencing wartime upheaval in France, she eventually settled in Bath, England, where she continued to document her life through memoirs, letters, and journals until her death in 1840.
