En savoir plus sur le livre
Just outside the neon Strip, Las Vegas Metro police find the mauled corpse of a young showgirl in the Nevada desert, a crime that shocks even this city of excess. Detective Sergeant Romulus Poe, a seasoned Vegas native, is called to the scene. The body is badly mutilated, with missing organs, and the harsh desert conditions complicate forensics. Poe is haunted by the similarities to a previous horrific murder attributed to an anonymous killer known as "the Bogeyman." He assembles a team that includes the handsome detective Stephen Jensen, his colleague Detective Patricia Deluca, a newcomer to homicide, and forensic pathologist Rukmani Kalil, who is also his part-time girlfriend. From the outset, the investigation is complicated by a web of intrigue. The urgency intensifies when another young woman is discovered in the desert a month later. Poe must navigate through Native American mysticism, medieval legends, and hidden twentieth-century scientific secrets to unravel the sordid history of Vegas and solve the series of gruesome murders. He races against time to save a woman he once loved, as they all become entangled in a perilous dance of Moon Music.
