Set against the backdrop of the West in 1846, the story follows a young non-Mormon boy, Wes Hamlin, who is on the run after being falsely accused of murder. Their journey is filled with adventures, guided by a gruff mountain man, as they navigate their growing feelings for each other. However, Wes must prove his innocence, and Anna must defy her family's wishes for her to enter a polygamous marriage, adding tension to their budding romance.
