The Battle of Fyfield

Set in a small village facing the threat of development, the narrative follows Giles Debbage, who resides in a cellar-office due to family issues. In an attempt to win back his wife and daughters, he teams up with a neighbor to kidnap a celebrity professor from an Oxford college, aiming to blackmail the institution into halting its plans for new construction.
