Focusing on Mexican migration patterns, this thesis explores the influx that began in the early 20th century, tracing its roots to late 19th-century immigration policies. It highlights the temporary guestworker movement up to World War II, followed by the bracero program from 1942 to 1964, and the subsequent liberalization of U.S. immigration policy until 1986. The analysis emphasizes the evolving nature of migration and policy impacts, while noting that the neo-restrictive trends post-1986 are outside the scope of this study.
