The Year We Sailed the Sun

Set in St. Louis in 1911, the story follows eleven-year-old orphan Julia Delaney as she grapples with the harsh realities of life at the House of Mercy. With her sister Mary leaving for adulthood, Julia's frustrations with the nuns' strict rules grow. Her world takes a turn when she, her family, and her best friend become entangled with a gangster, leading them into a decade-old mystery that promises to change their lives forever.
