The Selamb siblings navigate the aftermath of their mother's death and their father's incapacitation, leading to a struggle for independence under the watch of a guardian and estate manager. Each sibling deals with their upbringing's emotional scars in unique ways while trying to establish their identities in late 19th-century bourgeois Swedish society.
