The Last Suttee

The narrative centers on Kumud Kuthiyala, who returns to her childhood town, Neela Nagar, to prevent a young girl's suttee, a ritual she witnessed as a child. Having escaped to lead a life dedicated to women's rights and education, Kumud is determined to confront the deeply ingrained customs that oppress women. As she battles superstition and prejudice, she grapples with her past and the town's contradictions, striving to change the minds of the community and save the young bride from a tragic fate.
