In a world where uniqueness is dangerous and free speech can lead to death, survival becomes a fierce struggle. Sixteen-year-old Rosa resides in one of the eight enclosed cities of The Woodlands, a refuge for survivors of a devastating race war in the inhospitable Russian wilderness. In these circular cities, strict adherence to the law is mandatory, and Rosa's nonconformity brands her as an outcast, shunned by those around her—until she meets Joseph. With his blonde hair, fair skin, and green eyes, he is her polar opposite, and their connection feels perilous. Once, individuality was celebrated, but the Superiors, who govern the cities with an iron grip, are determined to forge a 'raceless' race to prevent future conflicts, viewing any deviation as a threat that must be eradicated. They wield immense power, seen as superheroes by the public, yet their actions reveal a darker agenda. As they exploit young girls for a secret breeding program, they remain oblivious to the friendships that form in the shadows. One man, however, is resolute in his mission to rescue a girl caught in their web, igniting a fight against the oppressive regime.
