The novel Wolves of The Revenue details the travails of a taxpayer's resistance to a relentless and vindictive IRS prosecution. Special Agents William Warmblood and Barney "The Taxcatcher" Flowers bedevil Andy Clauson with audits, assessments, moles, litigation, subpoenas and seizures of his home and factory. All this impoverishes Clauson, destroys his marriage, disperses his children and ruins his business. Down and nearly out, Clauson retaliates. Capitalizing on Agent Warmblood's blunder, Clauson penetrates the IRS's most sensitive files, which, using the Services' own resources, he publicly disseminates. The instantaneous uproar incites a national tax revolt. Warmblood and Flowers, aghast at the fiscal havoc, redouble their efforts to neutralize Clauson once and forever.
