Something is off in the Swedish village Mara has moved to. After some encounters with supernatural elements, she finds out her neighbors are the long-forgotten Norse gods. For centuries they have been hiding in a small Swedish settlement, but now they want to be worshipped again. Since they aren't experts in modern media, they convince Mara, who is an obsessively ambitious and overconfident advertising manager, for help in putting them back on the map. She is determined to show the world she is capable of launching an entire religion. At least, that is the plan... But the gods are dangerously volatile. While they cause chaos everywhere, people close to Mara fall victim to floods and other disasters she helped create. She wants out, but the gods won't let her go. Can she turn this around without harming the ones she loves?
