Christina Lyon was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and grew up in southern England. Her father, a brilliant concert pianist of Polish descent whose mysterious past left him hardened and embittered, caused Christina to flee home as a young woman.Years later, upon his death Christina’s father bequeathed to her his secret journals, a compilation of scratched diary entries and memoirs disclosing the details of his past as a spy in postwar Poland. Christina, taken aback by the revelation, was determined to chronicle the life of the father that she apparently never knew. Christina’s discovery and writing about her father leads her back to the country ofher birth, where she meets Robert MacFarlane - the strong, seductive, and unattainable Scottish King - who upon first sight sets Christina’s head spinning. Recovering, Christina’s fiancé, David, deserts her by breaking off their engagement. But the Scottish King, upon news of the attack, returns to Christina and guards her through what would be her final altercation with Zielinski...
