Kemisha Swan-Ajayi grew up in Chicago's foster care community, where she discovered a passion for writing. She loves to cook, and after perfecting her barbeque sauce recipe, Miss Swan's Perfect Barbeque Sauce won top awards across the U.S. Kemisha lives in Evanston with her husband and two children. She is an aspiring social worker, and works with special education students in her hometown. "I'm dedicating this book to my family and to every child with a dream. My students and my children inspired me to write it." She credits her husband for his love and support, and thanks her co-workers in education for believing in her vision.
