These institutions grapple with dwindling enrollments, reduced funding, and heightened accountability demands, all while competing on an international scale and adapting to rapid technological advancements. Students increasingly base their class decisions on faculty interactions and evolving learning expectations. Born from innovative educational practices, this work delves into personalized learning strategies to address the college retention crisis. After 22 years of teaching, Carmen R. Allen observed many students failing, dropping out, or vanishing altogether. Driven by a commitment to student success, she sought methods to better meet student needs through early intervention and personalized communication, ultimately achieving significant results. Allen is hopeful that educators will adopt her strategies to enhance student support and outcomes. Carmen R. Allen began her teaching career at Lincoln Land Community College in Illinois, where she discovered her true passion for education. Transitioning from a traditional lecture style to a more personalized approach, she aims to foster student engagement and success. She has been recognized as the Pearson Master Teacher of the Year and currently resides in Illinois.
