En savoir plus sur le livre

Euripides, a pivotal figure in ancient Greek drama, transformed the portrayal of mythical heroes by depicting them as relatable individuals facing extraordinary challenges. Born around 480 BC on Salamis Island, he initially trained for athletics at his father's insistence but ultimately pursued a career in theater. Competing in the City Dionysia, he won only five first prizes during his lifetime. His innovative plays, rich in lyrical poetry, reflect the cultural significance of theater in his time. After falling out of favor in Athens, he found refuge in Macedon, where he was honored after his death around 406 BC.
