Burning Daylight

Set in a dystopian future, the narrative unfolds in 2072, where a devastating scarlet plague has drastically reduced the population. James Howard Smith, one of the last survivors in San Francisco, faces his mortality and endeavors to pass on essential knowledge and wisdom to his grandsons. The story explores themes of societal collapse, class stratification, and the remnants of a once-thriving civilization, now dominated by a hereditary underclass and an oligarchic political system, alongside the existence of commercial airships for the wealthy.
